When Is the Best Time to Start Treatment?
It can be challenging to know whether your child is the right age to receive orthodontic treatment. Our Bristow orthodontist will ultimately determine if treatment is necessary. However, between the ages of 11 and 15 is the most common time to begin orthodontic treatment.
By 12 years old, most of your child’s teeth should have erupted. This is typically when parents can determine whether or not their child should receive orthodontic treatment, as problems like overbites and spacing issues are easier to detect once your child’s adult teeth are in place.

Invisalign
Invisalign is the most common and the most effective system of invisible aligner “braces” on the market. They provide a number of benefits, including the ability to completely remove the treatment to clean the teeth and the aligners when necessary. They are essentially invisible and can be far more comfortable than metal braces. A set of clear, removable trays that are custom fitted to your teeth. You wear them for 20-22 hours a day. Invisalign is usually more expensive than braces but here at Modern Orthodontics, we offer Invisalign at the same price of traditional braces!

Incognito/Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are like traditional metal braces, so although they’re not invisible, they attach to the back of your teeth versus the front and are much less noticeable. Incognito Hidden Braces work behind the scenes – literally – so no one can see you’re wearing braces. The braces are hidden behind your teeth and practically invisible when you smile. And they’re 100% customized for you, so you can be confident in the results.

Metal Traditional Braces
Standard metal brackets that are placed on your teeth with an adhesive and connected by wire. They require periodic tightening so steady pressure can gradually straighten your teeth and align your jaw.
-
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are associated with being more discreet than metal braces. The way they are composed and colored makes them less noticeable than metal braces. Ceramic brackets are placed on your teeth with an adhesive and connected by wire. They require periodic tightening so steady pressure can gradually straighten your teeth and align your jaw.

Gold Braces
Gold braces are actually made of stainless steel, just like standard braces. They just happen to be plated in gold! They are placed on the front of your teeth with an adhesive and connected by wire. They require periodic tightening so steady pressure can gradually straighten your teeth and align your jaw.
